Ska Punk
JER
JER
Ska Punk
Most known from their cover songs, albums, and YouTube channel as SKATUNE NETWORK and as the trombonist for WE ARE THE UNION, JER’s debut album is a ska masterclass. Not only does it blend traditional ska, two-tone, and 3rd wave ska punk, it pushes the genre into “NEW TONE” ska territory with experimental synths, samples, and the blending of emo, hip hop, and trap. The album is also fiercely political and progressive, drawing on Jeremy’s perspective as a non-binary POC to decry systematic cultural and societal injustices. But with the message firmly in hand, JER also leaves plenty of room for the absolute joy that great ska punk can bring… and there are certainly plenty of moments of joy on this record.

VIAL
VIAL
Punk
VIAL is a Minneapolis-based indie punk trio of best friends: Bassist Taylor Kraemer (she/they), guitarist KT Branscom (they/them), and drummer Katie Fischer (she/they). VIAL has brought their genre-bending cascade of sound into electrifying live performances since their formation (On Tinder, mind you) in mid-2019. They’ve got songs that smack you in the face: Rage-written speedruns about running over misogynists ("Roadkill") and head-bopping, cheek-blushing queer love songs to tingle your toes ("Violet"); VIAL is a powerhouse who knows how to adapt their sound, and themselves, allowing them to grow in new ways during 2020’s days of quarantine by creating a wide audience on Tik Tok and other social media while revving up to release their blossoming debut album, LOUDMOUTH (2021). This record was highly anticipated after the success of their debut EP, “Grow Up,” which hit streaming sites soon after the group’s formation in late 2019.
Following the release of LOUDMOUTH, VIAL has made an explosive return to live music, playing historic venues across Minnesota, including First Avenue’s iconic main stage, and have hit many of their favorite cities while supporting artists such as FIDLAR, HUNNY, and Mal Blum.

Emo
Arcadia Grey
Arcadia Grey
Emo
In the ever growing realm of 5th wave emo, there are 2 constants. Bands that make you feel; and bands that make you feel Feral.
Arcadia Grey, the Chicago based three piece (deemed as one of nine emo bands to watch by the Alternative Press), easily weaves together both— heart wrenching lyrics and explosive mosh anthems, ensuring you receive your doctors daily recommended dose of visceral emotional expression.
After dropping their debut album “Konami Code” in 2019 and being featured on a split alongside Guitar Fight From Fooly Cooly and Oolong, the sparkle punk rockers have toured the US extensively with fellow 5th wave leaders like Oklahomas ‘Ben Quad’ and Ohios ‘Equipment’ cementing their place as a staple throughout the country.
Hitting festival season 2023 with reckless abandon (XLNC Fest, PUG Fest, Fauxchella 6, The Fest), Arcadia Grey shows no signs of slowing their relentless advance to the top of 5th wave.
With LP2 being produced by Kyle Pulley from Headroom Studios and slated for release in 2024. Arcadia Grey continues to encourage getting your extreme emotions out with healthy, quiet reflection after. The new single “Made 4 Luv” dropping in 2023 embodies this duality wholeheartedly with an apt bridge quote— “Hoooo-weee! Got a little bit rowdy there, we should bring it back down”.
some sad tunes you can bop to.
